CO activation by uploading a file

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

On https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/ there is no subsection ["Devices">"Upload Capability Request"] to proceed with activation of ChemOffice Suite 2021 through uploading the file. Described functionality is located at "Offline Device Management" subsection.

DISCUSSION:

1. On initial ChemOffice Suite 2021 21.0.999 installation "PerkinElmer Software activation" window popups. Additionally to regular Online activation, there is an option for Activation by uploading a file (VD-BetaV21-0001.png, red arrow).

2. Pressing "?" button provides an html guide (CS$.html file) on how to complete the activation, green arrow). According to description for activation by uploading a file, end-user should navigate to subsection ["Devices">"Upload Capability Request"] at https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/ to upload generated bin-file.

3. However, that subsection doesn't exist there. It is located in ["Devices">"Offline Device Management"].

4. Please, note, you CANNOT continue installing the software without either completion of activation step or quitting it. In ChemOffice Suite 2021 21.0.999 installer the "Next" button is inactive until completion of activation or quitting it ( (VD-BetaV21-0002.png, red arrow). That's why "if you haven't done so already" part of the sentence has to be removed from CS$.html file.

Activate by uploading a file

* Select the "Activate or deactivate by uploading a file" option and click on the "Activate" button. You will be prompted to save a local .BIN file to some location you choose (e.g., your Desktop). Then close the Activation Dialog by selecting "Quit". Continue installing the software to completion, if you haven't done so already.

* Navigate to the following web site: https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com and log in. If you have never logged in before, create an account using your organization’s email address. Once logged in, select "Devices">"Upload Capability RequestOffline Device Management".

* Select the "Choose File" option, navigate to your .BIN file and then select "Open". Make sure "Upload Type: Generate Licence" option is selected. Then select "SendUpload" to upload this .BIN file. If a licence generation was successful, a text string "License has been generated successfully, please click here to download the new license." will appear above on a top of the page. Clicking the link will download "capabilityResponse.BIN" file from the site to your computer. The "Response.BIN" file is downloaded from the site to your computer. This file should be placed in the C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\FNE\21.0\ folder on your hard drive. Then relaunch the software to activate the product.
