Actions slow down (bug?) with too many radicals

For teaching, I have to cover Lewis structures. ChemDraw pages that have multiple radicals ('radicals' or dots from >chemical symbols menu<) lag badly (cut & paste takes a second or two and movement of selected objects slows down). Not sure what the exact number of radicals to cause slow down is.

I confess I don't use the lone pair symbol from the >chemical symbols menu< (personally, I think the spacing is too great, especially if you increase the size of the dots to make them more visible) so use a grouped pair of dots/radicals.

This occurs on both Mac PowerBook Pro (2018) macOS 10.15.7 and iMac macOS 10.14.x
